Experience

Tom stands at the helm of Thornton Construction Company, Inc., a testament to his unwavering passion for the construction industry which began in the early 1990s. An alumnus of the University of Florida, Tom holds a B.S. in Building Construction. His expertise was further honed by working with some of Florida's premier construction firms before venturing out to establish his own enterprise, which saw rapid success. Tom's leadership style reflects a profound understanding of the impact of each project on communities. As a result, he instilled a core philosophy at Thornton Construction: direct involvement of top management in every project. This approach has fostered a trust with our clientele, ensuring they repeatedly choose us for their construction needs. Beyond the confines of his business, Tom's dedication to his community is evident. In 2004, he was honored with an election to the State of Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board. His commitment to public service continued with a six-year term as a Village Council member for the Village of Key Biscayne. A philanthropist at heart, Tom supports various initiatives including scholarship programs, hospital fundraisers, and has generously undertaken pro-bono projects.
