Thornton provided the Construction Management of a 64,000 SF building. This 4-story, 83-unit, section 8 affordable housing building project services the elderly in Hialeah, Florida. The structure of this section 8 housing complex was poured-in-place concrete columns and beams with concrete masonry unit infill and a PT type floor structure. The building complex included balconies at every unit, and contains one and two bedroom units. The sliders in each unit go from floor to ceiling height to allow a good flow of natural light into the apartments. In addition, all units contain ceramic floor tiles, and the common areas were furnished with ceramic plank type flooring. The project also included new landscape areas and surface parking for its tenants.
