MDC Building 3000 & Science Lab

Overview

This project entailed the complete renovation of 40,000 SF of two buildings at Miami-Dade College Kendall Campus, including the addition of science labs, classrooms and offices, study areas and support space. Thornton won this project after providing MDC with other construction services for seven years, and MDC recognized Thornton’s expertise installing scientific instruments and related infrastructure. The labs, classrooms and support space were added by consolidating areas previously used by Campus Student Services. Remodeling and renovations included HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, acoustics, room finishes, lab equipment, and furniture.
